Introducing Colleen Lindsey, Ed.D., Director of Family Faith Formation
Fr. Francis Di Spigno, OFM,
Pastor
I am very happy to share with you the great news that Colleen Lindsey has joined our Pastoral Staff as the Director of Family Faith Formation. Colleen has a wealth of experience in education and collaborative leadership. After three years as the Director of Religious Education at Visitation Parish in Norristown, PA, she went on to work for the Diocese of Wilmington, DE as the Director of the Office of Religious Education for seven years. Moving closer to home she then took the position of the Director of the Office for Catechetical Formation for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. While there she served on numerous committees including the Archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress subcommittee held at the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA. During that Congress, Colleen had the unique opportunity to interview Antonia Acutis, the mother of soon-to-be canonized Carlo Acutis. Not many people can say that they talked to the mother of a canonized saint.
Colleen earned her undergraduate degree at Immaculata University and a master’s degree in religious studies with a concentration in Moral Theology from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Because one can never have enough schooling, she returned to her alma mater, Immaculata University and after a number of years of study was awarded a doctorate in educational leadership and administration.
I have met with Colleen many times since she started working at St. Francis. She has wonderful ideas and some creative thoughts on how to advance religious education in the 21st Century. Carla Parisio, who had been carrying the program since Fr. Scott left in January, is now the Coordinator of Religious Education for the parish. She reports directly to Colleen as they work together to produce an extraordinary religious education program for our parish community. Together they have already began working with our catechists in preparation for next year’s program.
I have also charged Colleen with the task of hiring a Youth Minister for the parish. Under this new organizational structure, the youth ministry program will also report to Colleen to create a seamless transition from our religious education classes to a youth ministry program and young adult program. We are actively looking for someone to become the coordinator of youth ministry. If you are interested, or know someone who is interested, please contact Colleen in the parish office.
Welcome Colleen, to our incredible parish family where the faith is strong and our commitment to the Gospel is real. Thank you for saying yes, and may you be blessed with great success as you lead us in welcoming and forming the next generation of believers.
Peace and All Good.
