Monday of the 23rd Week in Ordinary Time

The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely to see if he would cure on the sabbath so that they might discover a reason to accuse him.  (Lk 6:7) 

To keep the sabbath perfectly or to do a good work?  Sometimes I want to use the commandments or rules and regs to give my conscience cover and help me look good in my own eyes.  It is my Pharisaical self at its best and it is far from the gospel.  Better to do the good work that needs to be done.
