Daily Reflection: Wednesday, August 25

August 25, Wednesday of the 21st Week in Ordinary Time

You recall, brothers and sisters, our toil and drudgery.  Working day and night in order not to burden any of you, we proclaimed to you the Gospel of God. (1 Thes 2:9)

Saint Paul is scrupulous that nothing should cloud the proclamation and reception of the gospel.  Except for the gospel message itself, it is as if he is not even there.  It is a lesson in humility before both God and humanity.
