A Nation Entrusted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
On June 11, 2026, the Catholic bishops of the United States will formally consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This historic act of faith comes during the celebration of our country’s 250th anniversary and will take place during the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Spring Assembly in Orlando, Florida. Catholics across the nation are being invited to unite in prayer and to entrust our country, our communities, and our families to the loving Heart of Jesus.
What does it mean to make a consecration? Simply put, a consecration is an act of dedication. Through this prayer, we place ourselves under the care and protection of Jesus, acknowledging Him as Lord and asking Him to guide our lives according to His will. The Sacred Heart reminds us of Christ’s endless love, mercy, and compassion which is a love poured out for every person and every nation.
The bishops hope this moment will renew faith in our country and inspire Catholics to live more fully as disciples of Jesus Christ.
At St. Francis of Assisi Parish, we will join this national movement on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Friday, June 12, during our 9:00 AM Mass. We will pray together the Prayer of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, uniting our prayers with Catholics throughout the United States.
All parishioners are warmly invited to participate in this special celebration. If you are unable to attend in person, the 9:00 AM Mass will be live-streamed, allowing you to join in prayer from home. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus bless our nation, strengthen our parish, and draw each of us closer to His divine love.
