Daily Reflection: Saturday, September 18
Saturday, September 18
“A sower went out to sow his seed.” This quote is from today’s Gospel. It goes on to tell about what happened to the seed: some was trampled, some fell on rocky ground, some fell among thorns, some fell on good soil. “The seed is the word of God.” We all hope that we are that good soil that allows God’s word to take root and grow and flourish. I learned this from my garden in Beach Haven that is composed of mushroom soil and manure. Even in this type of soil, weeds flourish and it is an endless battle everyday to make sure that they don’t take over. Skip a day and you’ll pay with extra work. This says to me: the goodness that God has given us cannot be taken more granted. It must be taken care of and nourished daily. Stay awake and alert!
