Daily Reflection: Friday, September 3
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3
Saints of God, the Lord be with you. In today’s Gospel according to St. Luke, 5:33-39, Jesus speaks about old and new wine, “ And no one who has been drinking old wine desires new, for he says ‘the old is good.’” Today is the memorial of Pope St. Gregory the Great who commissioned the “new music” we now call Gregorian chant. I wonder how this “new” music was first received?
