Daily Reflection: Friday, December 17

Friday, December 17

Today’s Gospel is the genealogy of Jesus Christ from the Gospel of Luke.  It is quite a listing with people to be admired and others whose lives were less than perfect. It shows that Jesus came from a line of people similar to our genealogies, some to be admired and others who embarrass us. Our humanity has its strengths and also its weaknesses. This is what we were born into and this is what Jesus was born into. Our being joined to Jesus’ life gives us the strength and hope that we all need. Thank the Lord for calling you to be joined to Him.

Fr. Andrew
