About Hospital Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers make pastoral visits to patients at Southern Ocean County Medical Center, offering Communion and reminding individuals of God’s love. Encouraging prayer and trust in Him, our ministry has been active for many years.
Committed to giving one morning a week, our ministers attend daily mass, pick up the consecrated hosts, and drive to the hospital. Spending approximately an hour and a half, they visit patients, with the time varying depending on the number of patients and individual needs.
Join Us
A sincere desire to engage with the sick and share God’s presence is the primary requirement. To join, complete an application to SOMC and comply with all hospital requirements. Training and ongoing guidance are provided. Substitutes are also welcome.
