Thursday May 9
When a loved one dies or moves beyond our grasp, we often hold dear the last thing they said to us. Their words may be quoted even for later generations as the final wisdom with which family and friends are gifted. As Jesus was leaving his disciples, his parting words were: “Go out into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.” This command carries down to us. We may not be called to be missionaries in far off lands in order to fulfill it, but we are all called to proclaim the gospel by our lives.
