The Martha Ministry
About
Liturgical ministry is not confined to the lectors and Eucharistic Ministers so prominent at Masses and Special Liturgies. Behind the scenes, members of the Martha Ministry perform critically important tasks that make our worship spaces comfortable and inviting.
Our sacristans ensure that all our churches are well supplied with clean altar linens, Communion hosts and wine, and candles and batteries and that's where the Martha Ministry takes over. Some Martha ministers de-clutter the vestibules and dust pews and sanctuary tables and chairs. Others help to keep the churches tidy and do any extra cleaning that is needed on a monthly basis and also seasonal basis in all the churches. Opening up churches in the spring and putting out hymnals at the start of Advent are particularly busy times. Maintenance staff take care of heavy cleaning of floors and bathrooms but the Martha ministers add that prayerful touch to make sure everything is ready for our celebrations.
Care for the Church Gardens
About
Our ministry is dedicated to ensuring that all church gardens reflect the beauty, faith, vibrancy, and love of our parishioners, serving as a symbol of our community’s spirit and unity.
Our Activities
Regular garden maintenance includes weeding, deadheading, trimming, pruning, and spring and fall garden clean-up. Any amount of time you can provide is greatly appreciated.
